Virginia Exteriors was founded in 2013 by Eddie Hane in Sterling, Virginia. The goal then is the same as it is now: do quality work on Northern Virginia homes, treat homeowners the way you’d want your own family treated, and keep the same crew long enough that the work shows it.
Thirteen years later, we’re still based in Sterling. Eddie still owns the company. The crews who installed siding in Sterling and Herndon a decade ago are mostly still on the team. So is the same standard.
The founder
Meet Eddie
Eddie Hane founded Virginia Exteriors in 2013 after years in the trades. Before this company, he was a master painter (he’s retired from that side of the work now, but the eye for finished work is still there).
He built Virginia Exteriors as a small, hands-on shop because he wanted control over the quality of the work, not the scale of the operation. Thirteen years later, the company is still small on purpose. The people who started with him are mostly still on the team. That’s the shop he built and it’s the one we still run today.

The people who install your windows, siding, trim, gutters, or roof are employees of Virginia Exteriors. Not subcontractors. Not manufacturer-installed crews (where you’d actually be dealing with three companies on one job).
Our crew has 35 years of combined experience in exterior trades, and our average employee has been with us for 13 years. That’s not a normal number in this industry. Most companies you call will have crews that turn over every season. Ours doesn’t, because the people who work here are treated the way we treat our customers.
How we work
Custom orders. Full-frame tear-outs. Done in days, not weeks.
We order every window and door to your home’s exact measurements. We don’t stock anything. We do full-frame tear-outs on exterior doors so the frame, jamb depth, and door slab are all built to your opening.
Most windows and doors install in a day. Most roofs install in a day. Siding and trim take an average of two days depending on the size of the home. We show up on time, we clean up after ourselves, and we don’t leave until the job’s done right.
